School Consultation
Is your child struggling academically, behaviorally, and/or social-emotionally in school? Children who learn, think, and act differently can thrive in the classrooms with appropriate interventions, modifications, and accommodations. Start by talking to your child’s school about your concerns and to learn how they can support your child.
Depending on your child’s needs, they may be eligible for services under an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or a 504 Plan. Navigating your local school district’s policies and procedures when it comes to specialized services can be overwhelming and confusing as you may encounter many special education-related terms and jargons that you are not familiar with.
If you need additional support to help you advocate for your child’s needs, please contact me to schedule a consultation. I am a school psychologist by training and have several years of experiences working in schools across districts and states. As a school psychologist, my roles included but not limited to: evaluating students’ eligibility for services, leading IEP, 504, and problem-solving meetings, consulting with the stakeholders (i.e., teachers, school administrators, support staff, and parents), as well as developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
